It's Not Heritage. It's Not Archives. It's...Topps Magazine Cards

Just as super heroes are involved in fighting crime, I'm involved in what seems to be a never-ending search for Braves odd-balls, regional and food-issues. There's certainly not a shortage of such items for collectors like myself, it's just a matter of how much you're willing to pay for them. Thankfully, there were a lot of cool 'repli-cards' that came out of hobby periodicals that can be found at very minimal prices.

During a recent eBay search, I found a four-card lot of 1952-style cards from Topps Magazine. These replicas had been included in the Winter 1991 issue that featured Detroit slugger Cecil Fielder on the cover and were mine for a pretty low price ($1.41 w/ free shipping). Best of all, one of them was a David Justice card that I've been looking to pick up for quite some time.

TM36 David Justice
Getting this one by itself for the price I paid would have been well worth the money. The other three- I can use them for trade bait or try to sell them on eBay. Anyone in need of any of the following?

TM35 Matt Williams

TM33 Darryl Strawberry

TM34 Mark McGwire
