Brett Butler Topps Archive Auto

On this day in 1981, Brett Butler made his major league debut for the Braves- starting in center field and batting lead-off. Brett went 1 for 4 that night against the Mets, while scoring two runs and driving in another.

Custom "Rookie" Card

Although he only played in Atlanta from '81-'83, Butler was a favorite of mine. Perhaps it was because I could relate to someone being small in stature. Whatever the reason, he was an exciting player throughout his seventeen year career. And so when I saw that he was included in the Topps Archives autographs checklist, I was determined to pick one up.

Mission accomplished! And, for less than $3.

  1. I loved watching Butler on Dodgers. He was a textbook hunter as well.
