One Score and Zero Years Ago: The 1993 Leaf Braves

The first three releases from Leaf featured the use of silver in either the border or as part of the design (the landmark '90 set). For 1993, the company completely changed things up by using full-bleed photos, corners with a slate design and gold foil stamping- making the set look more like a Fleer Ultra product than a Leaf set. Another similarity between this set and the Ultra sets can be found on the card backs- where there is a photo of the player superimposed over a background. In the case of Leaf, this year's set featured landmarks distinct to the team's city.

Leaf issued the 1993 set in three series: the first two being 220 cards each, and a updated third series containing 110 cards. Gold Leaf Rookies returns for the third straight season, while Leaf introduced other inserts including: On the Fast Track, Gold Leaf Stars and Heading for the Hall.
